Goblin Leithris

A short play written by Katie Smith, Erin Welsh, Caleb McClung, and Joe Kemprowski

Directed by Rowan Jalso

December 2019, West Virginia University

What would you do, if you found yourself locked in a public bathroom with what appears to be a mythical monster? What then if that monster just wanted to talk about their ex? For frat boy Chase, this is exactly what happens while on his way to a drunken beach party. But if there is anyone qualified to give relationship advice, it is certainly not Chase.

A surrealist play set in a bodega bathroom (of all places). Curses, revenge, couples’ therapy, and a very drunk college student vibing with an emotionally distressed monster, Goblin Leithris is a love story gone terrible wrong.
